HOW TO: Wall Decor Revamp

Have you ever had something you love, you bought, you hang around your house to look at all day; then one day you look at it and it just feels so WRONG/WORN/OLD. I decided to try and renew one of these inspirational quote that I have. For this one I changed the colour scheme to fit its surroundings. I feel like this is a fun little project for many old, once-loved things to have a second chance. Let's get started!!

----------------- You'll Need ----------------

- scissors
- cutter
- acrylic paint in desired colours (I have gold, silver and black)
- ruler for measures
- pen and paper to trace
- few sponges

-------------------------------------------------

1. Use pen and paper, trace the original pattern. Or you may find and print a design of choice.
2. Tear the old surface down. I am lucky it was paint on fabric, and it's tearing down a bit before.
3. Paint the wood surface black. You can choose paint brush or I used sponge for a smooth surface.
4. Hollow out the traced mark with cutter. Carefull, it's SHARP!
5. Paint on the hollowed part with small paintbrush.
6. Remove the stencil and we're DONE!

I did also printed a Shakespeare quote on the back, to sometimes flip around for new decor!

Favourite Summer Drink Ever!!

I love sparkling water as much as the others, it's a bit more exciting than plain still water but a bit less GUILTY than a good old soda. And this little recipe is my most often go-to summer drink to quench thirst and beat the heat.

It's minty, fresh and irresistibly addicting. ;)

You'll need :

Sparkling water
1 Lime
Few lemon slices
Fresh mint

To make this:

1. Tear 5-8 pieces of mint leaves in half, you may also use mint stems, put in your glass of choice. (I chose the Bonjour Mason Jar
2. Put in your sliced lemon, I found 2 slices taste best. You may have more if you won't use lime.
3. Cut your lime evenly into 6-8 pieces, we may get most lime juices this way. Squeeze all the lime slices but leave 1 slice for decoration. You may squeeze much less slices and directly put it in if you hate the sour taste.
4. Pour in your choice of sparkling water. Adjust the taste with poking juices out of lemon or lime.

Happy Drinking!

HOW TO - What Makes a Bookmark ?? #1

I might, in years, look back and regret posting this

- - - - - - - - - - NERDY BOOKWORM ALLERT - - - - - - - - -

I decided to start this series of "What makes a bookmark??"

Have you ever feel like

ARGHHH

I haven't finish this book and need something to just bookmark it

and there's absolutely no "regular" bookmark around to use...

That makes 2 of us ^^

Would you usually put the book face down on the desk and walk away

come back and found it never close the same

Or accidentally pick it up and forget it not marked yet

Anyway

You struggle to find the page you're on

while blaming your self for not having enough bookmarks

go buy more packs of bookmarks and forget where you put 'em

That's what always happen to me (sad face)

 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Why don't we make bookmarks out of other things??

piece of paper, Popsicle stick, ribbon, old receipts

literally anything

The idea hit me when I ran out of my Grapefruit body scrub

I Can't say no to GRAPEFRUIT scents

It's a good scrub and it smells NICE and FRESH

My point is

It's a beautiful container and I want to keep it

Not just as an empty thing

No, that's not CREATIVE

So it made it into, yes, a BOOKMARK

All you need is

A pair of scissors

Some heavy books

You cut it open

Measure a piece to cut out

Put under heavy books to get  rid of the curve

And

VOALA

Here's your  (my actually) makeshift bookmark!!

The Book is Girl Online by Zoe Sugg (Zoella on YouTube)

Love her, love her book ;)

I think it's still pretty, still smells like bunch of fresh grapefruits

and it's easy, free and for me quite FUN

Any other makeshift tips??

Thanks for reading

XOXO

Tangie

p.s. I did not meant to type soooo many words, can't stop typing, or rambling, Help...

How To : Turn your Broken WEDGE HEEL into FLATS :)

When your feet suffer from pain and tire brought by those heels and platforms
Don't you just miss a pair of nice laid back flats?

Let's get rid of that stature for once!!

From This............................................................To THIS!!!

I got this idea when this happened :(

So my black and leopard-print wedge heel broke down on me after a shopping spree :(

Well that's LIFE, it gives you LEMONS

So let's grab some tools and make Lemonade!  Umm, I mean FLATS...     from wedge heels

You're gonna need:
1. a trowel / a letter opener / something with a blunt blade
2. Strong contact adhesive glue
3. Mask and gloves as protection (optional)

1. As one of my wedge heel had almost came off all the way,  I peel the top part off with hand and a bit help from the trowel.
2. There you can see the top part is separated from the platform, and the sole of the shoe is coming off as well
3. So I peel the sole of my wedge off with hands. It came right off easily.
4. So my "flat" is now missing a sole.

5. My other wedge heel is completely fine and I need to use the blade of the trowel to help loosen it.
6. Then you want to peel it off with some STRENGTH ;)
7. I then loosen up the sole part of my other wedge too.
8. Peel off the sole part completely to obtain the sole plastic

9. So here you have the flats,  in vamps and soles
10. Apply the contact adhesive on both the vamp bottom and sole top,
to have them stick firmly together, follow the instruction of the contact adhesive you choose. Here I am pressing to hold them together for a while.

You might want to wear protection as I (wish to) do
The contact adhesive I used here is super strong and smells like poison :(

There you have it, you've successfully turned the BROKEN wedge heel into Flats!!
Of course I won't recommend doing this on an INTACT pair of wedge

BUT ... If you happened to broke a pair of wedge you really like
Or you needed a pair of nice tuned-down black flats (like me)
This is definitely worth the time.
And it's super easy Right?

I've tested the d.i.y. flats by wearing it to another shopping spree.
And I must say it worked pretty well. So I'm PROUD. =]

Have a MAGICAL day!!
